Spring Fling 2026 is taking place on Friday, May 29th—it's time to get organizing! If you're new to Dovercourt, Spring Fling is an annual festival organized by the Dovercourt School Advisory Council (SAC). It is an afternoon and evening of games, bouncy castles, food, activities, and entertainment, including the famous Dovercourt Talent Show. It is a terrific community event and our biggest fundraiser of the year. (You can see a recap of last year's event here.) Spring Fling relies on parent and caregiver volunteers—including our organizing committee. We need help to plan the scope of the event, and pull together the many moving parts that make it work. Please join us for a virtual kick-off meeting on Monday, February 2nd at 7:00pm to help plan the "best day of the year" (according to at least one six-year-old). We're looking for people to help us plan and organize:
(We'll also be looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event—but we'll ask for that later. Right now, we're seeking organizers!) If you think you can help and would like to get involved, in whatever capacity you can, please join us on Monday. Bring a friend! All jobs can be shared. The more help we have, the more we can do! Here is a calendar invitation with meeting details. Here is the Google Meet link for the meeting: https://meet.google.com/but-cari-iuh Dovercourt’s pizza lunch program is back for the winter. This program raises money to support all sorts of activities and initiatives at the school—and gives parents and caregivers a welcome break from lunch-packing. Dovercourt SAC supports the pizza lunch program by coordinating volunteers to distribute and serve pizza. We need four parents or guardians for each pizza lunch. Details:
Note: Regular Dovercourt volunteers must now complete a Toronto Police Service Vulnerable Sector Check. (Read more here.) Please ensure you have completed (or have submitted an application for) your VSC before signing up. Sign up here, or email us at [email protected] to see how you can help. At Dovercourt SAC's January meeting (on Monday, January 19th), we voted to approve our 2025/2026 School Statement of Needs (SSON). It has now been submitted to the TDSB. (For background on the SSON, please click here.) You can see a copy of the School Statement of Needs below. Thanks to all who weighed in and provided suggestions!
