Spring Fling planning meeting: Monday, March 2nd

2/25/2026

Our next Spring Fling planning meeting will take place on March 2nd at 7:00pm via Google Meet.

Please join if you'd like to get involved--you can add it to your calendar now!

If you're new to Dovercourt, Spring Fling is an annual festival organized by the Dovercourt School Advisory Council (SAC). It is an afternoon and evening of games, bouncy castles, food, activities, and entertainment, including the famous Dovercourt Talent Show. It is a terrific community event and our biggest fundraiser of the year. (You can see a recap of last year's event here.)

The event is fully organized by volunteers. Planning Spring Fling is a great (and fun!) way to connect with other Dovercourt parents and guardians while creating an amazing community event that benefits our school and its students. Win-win-win!

Our planning committee is off to a great start but are looking for volunteers to lead the planning of a few elements:

  • Games leads (2-4 leads): Plan and oversee activities in the schoolyards for kids of all ages.
  • Ticket leads (1-2 leads): Help organize (with school office) pre-sales of tickets, oversee ticket sales kiosk(s), etc.
  • Volunteer management leads (1-3 leads): Help build volunteer sign-up page, lead outreach to potential volunteers (including high schools), etc.
  • Inflatables leads (1-2 people): A day-of point person to oversee inflatable bouncy castles set-up and to ensure all stations are resourced with volunteers.
  • Donations leads (1-3 people): We're looking for people to seek out financial donations from local businesses and organizations to help cover the costs of the event.

Of course, if you'd like to help organize anything else--Food, Talent Show, Logistics (including set-up and tear-down), or anything else—we'd welcome your help!

Please join us on Monday at 7:00pm, or email us if you'd like to get involved.

Together, we'll organize an incredible community festival!

Dance-a-Thon: Details and how to donate School Cash Online

2/3/2026

Get ready to dance, Dovercourt!

The annual Dovercourt Dance-a-Thon fundraiser is returning on Thursday, February 12th. Every class will take a turn busting moves in the gym to playlists created by Dovercourt’s Student Council.

This is a free activity—there is no cost to participate. That said, students are welcome to collect donations from friends, family members, and neighbours, via School Cash Online. Tax receipts will be generated for all donations. (See instructions below.)

This year, our goal is to raise $5,000. Every dollar we raise will go back into our school, to be used towards enrichment equipment and activities that benefit all students. We’re raising money to put kids first!

The deadline to donate is February 28th, 2026.
If you'd like reminders, you can add the Dance-a-Thon and the donation deadline to your calendars.

How to donate:
