Our next Spring Fling planning meeting will take place on March 2nd at 7:00pm via Google Meet. Please join if you'd like to get involved--you can add it to your calendar now! If you're new to Dovercourt, Spring Fling is an annual festival organized by the Dovercourt School Advisory Council (SAC). It is an afternoon and evening of games, bouncy castles, food, activities, and entertainment, including the famous Dovercourt Talent Show. It is a terrific community event and our biggest fundraiser of the year. (You can see a recap of last year's event here.) The event is fully organized by volunteers. Planning Spring Fling is a great (and fun!) way to connect with other Dovercourt parents and guardians while creating an amazing community event that benefits our school and its students. Win-win-win! Our planning committee is off to a great start but are looking for volunteers to lead the planning of a few elements:
Please join us on Monday at 7:00pm, or email us if you'd like to get involved. Together, we'll organize an incredible community festival! Friends, families and guardians of Dovercourt students! Members of our community are banding together once again this year for the Coldest Night of the Year walk on February 28th at 4pm. This national walk raises funds for those in need in local communities. This year walkers from our neighbourhood will be stepping out in support of our school neighbour Oasis Dufferin Community Centre, which runs a neighbourhood food bank and other support programs. Please join the team this year and walk with fellow community members, or consider donating in support of this effort to support those in need in our community. For more information please contact Hilary Hall at [email protected]. Event Day Schedule: February 28th 📍 Location: 1219 Dufferin Street (Oasis Dufferin)
Get ready to dance, Dovercourt! The annual Dovercourt Dance-a-Thon fundraiser is returning on Thursday, February 12th. Every class will take a turn busting moves in the gym to playlists created by Dovercourt’s Student Council. This is a free activity—there is no cost to participate. That said, students are welcome to collect donations from friends, family members, and neighbours, via School Cash Online. Tax receipts will be generated for all donations. (See instructions below.) This year, our goal is to raise $5,000. Every dollar we raise will go back into our school, to be used towards enrichment equipment and activities that benefit all students. We’re raising money to put kids first! The deadline to donate is February 28th, 2026. If you'd like reminders, you can add the Dance-a-Thon and the donation deadline to your calendars. How to donate: The TDSB is moving towards cashless schools. As a result, all donations for this year's Dance-a-Thon must be made using School Cash Online.
