Believe it or not, we're now less than two months away from Spring Fling 2026!

We need your help to make the event as successful as possible. 

What is Spring Fling?

Spring Fling is Dovercourt Public School's biggest event—and biggest fundraiser—of the year. Money raised at the event pays for important enrichment activities and initiatives at Dovercourt throughout the year.

This year's event will feature:

• Inflatable bouncy castles!
• Arts and crafts!
• Games and activities!
• Food and bake sale!
• Entertainment!
• The world-famous Dovercourt Public School talent show!
• And much more!

When is Spring Fling?

Friday, May 29th, 2026, from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, at the school.

How can I get involved?

There are many ways:

• Donate a Silent Auction prize:
  We're planning an epic online Spring Fling Silent Auction fundraiser for the school, which will run in the weeks leading up to the event. Our Silent Auction team is actively looking for prizes: Vouchers, gift certificates, and items (new items only please). 
  • How to help: 
    • If you, your business, or your employer would like to contribute, please email us at [email protected].
      
      

• Donate money: 
  We're looking for financial donations to help offset the costs of producing the event, such as the rental of the inflatable bouncy castles. This allows us to maximize our fundraising at the event, which directly benefits our school and students—and tax receipts are available for financial donations! 
  • How to help:

• Help us plan:
  Spring Fling is organized by volunteers—we need many parents and guardians to make it happen. Our organizing committee is off to a terrific start, but we need more parents and guardians to lead various elements of the day. Here's a sample of the roles we need to fill:
  • Face-painting Lead(s): Organize supplies and supervise volunteers for the event's face-painting station.
  • Inflatables Captain(s): Be the go-to person (or people) for the three bouncy castles on the day of the event. Tasks include supervising lines and coordinating volunteers.
  • Host(s) a.k.a. Head(s) of Hype: Make announcements throughout the event, hype up the crowd, and keep the energy going!
  • Popcorn pro, a.k.a. Colonel (Kernel) Popcorn: Oversee the most poppin' snack site of the event!
  • We'd also welcome help on our Food, Silent Auction, Talent Show, Arts and Crafts, Games, Tickets, and Logistics teams.
  • How to help: 
    • If you're interested in helping out, or just want to learn more, please join us tonight (Monday, March 30th) at 7:00pm for our virtual planning meeting. It's taking place via Google Meet. Here is the link to the Meet, and here is a link to add it to your calendar.
      
      
• Volunteer on May 29th: 
  ​We'll have many opportunities to help out for an hour or two on the day of the event. Watch for our sign-up form a little closer to the date.

Spring Fling is truly a team effort, and represents everything that makes our school community so great: Generosity, community-mindedness, and fun! The more parents and guardians get involved, the better the event will be for all. Please join us in making it happen!

Mark your calendars: Dovercourt's annual School Movie Night is back on Thursday, March 12th!

Join us in the Dovercourt upper gym for a free viewing of Zootopia 2! We'll have popcorn (for free) and pizza (for sale) and fun (for all)!

Key details:

• Location: Dovercourt P.S. upper gym
• Date: Thursday, March 12th, 2026
• Time:
  • 5:30pm: Popcorn and pizza
  • 6:00pm: Movie begins
  • 8:00pm: Event ends
• Movie: Zootopia 2. (You can watch the trailer here!)

What to bring:

• Cash or debit card (preferred) if you’d like to buy pizza and/or spirit wear. (All proceeds from these fundraisers support school enrichment and events!)
• A water bottle.
• A non-perishable food item, if you’re able, for Student Council’s spring food drive in support of the Oasis Dufferin Community Centre.
• A blanket or cushion, if you’d like to sit on something more comfortable than the gym floor!

Volunteers needed:
