Spring Fling 2026: What a day!

Wow, wow, wow! Spring Fling 2026 was one for the ages.

​We ate, we crafted, we danced, we bounced our hearts out, we volleyed volleyballs, we pulled lollipops, we celebrated Pride, we learned about our environment, we mended stuffies, and we showed up for our school community in the biggest and best way.

It takes a village to make an event like Spring Fling a success, and we need to shout some big, heartfelt THANK YOU to:

• You, for coming out in such numbers. Our school community is alive and thriving and we’re so glad you all took time to celebrate it.
• The 90-plus event volunteers for making the day run as safely and smoothly as possible. (Special shout out to our 32 high school volunteers—most of whom are Dovercourt alumni!) 
• The dozens and dozens of generous local businesses, individuals, and organizations that donated prizes and money to the event (you can see a list below this post), whose support helped make the day accessible to all. Our community stepped up in a HUGE way and we are so grateful.
• Everyone who bid on a prize in our (wildly successful!) Silent Auction, which raised more than $6,000 for our school!
  • Side note: If you won a prize, a) congratulations! and b) please hold tight: We'll email you in the next day or two to coordinate payment and delivery of your prize.
• Repair Café Toronto, for helping us with our first ever Stuffy Hospital and Mending Tent—hopefully an annual tradition! Our volunteer menders repaired many worn out items, including the following Dovercourt stuffies: Lavender Bunny, Leopard, SpongeBob, Bleacher, Labubu, Rappy, Raccoony, and Dada.
• The Groove Crew from City Dance Corps for kicking off the event in such style and energy.
• Toronto Fire Services for bringing the excitement of a fire truck, and the City of Toronto's HTO program for giving us all fresh water.
• Dovercourt teachers, support staff, and caretakers for going above and beyond to make the day a smash. Special shout-outs to: 
  • ​Ms. Sniderman (for helping lead the talent show)
  • Ms. Ling (for helping lead food)
  • Ms. Greenwood (for helping us organize everything.)
  • Deborah Soares and Sandy Ozanic in the office.
• ​Finally, thank you to the volunteers on our small-but-mighty Spring Fling organizing committee. We all worked hard for months this year's event happen.
