Spring Fling: Call for volunteers and and donations

Spring Fling—Dovercourt's annual celebration of community celebration—is coming soon!

This year's Spring Fling takes place Friday, May 30, 2025 at the school. 

It will feature:

• Bouncy castles
• A student talent show
• Food (pizza, samosas, Jamaican patties, popcorn, and more)
• Bake sale
• Silent Auction (psst: This year, bidding will be online—keep an eye out!)
• Arts and crafts
• Games
• Karaoke
• Dance demonstrations
• Pride activities
• And much more.

We need your help! 

Spring Fling is more than a party. It’s also our biggest fundraiser of the year.
Money raised last year has supported enrichment activities all school year, including:

• Several amazing assemblies;
• Important supplies for the wood shop, the schoolyard, and more; and
• The school-wide mural project currently beautifying our walls.

Spring Fling makes our school a better place. And it takes a village to make it happen.

How to get involved:

• Volunteer: We need more than 90 volunteers for the day to run smoothly. There are many ways to lend a hand! High school students are welcome. Sign up for a shift or two using our SignUpGenius form.
  
  
• Lend: To keep our costs down, we hope to borrow some items for use the day of the event. Please email us at [email protected] if you can lend us any of the following on May 30th:
  • Canopy tents (ideally 10' x 10')
  • Kid-friendly yard games (such as cornhole or giant Jenga).
  • Large wheeled coolers.
    
    
• Bake: We're once again asking bakers (and buyers of bakes) to contribute nut-free baked goods to be sold as part of our popular Bake Sale. Sign up to contribute here.

• Donate: We're looking from donations to offset the costs of producing the event, and to help us raise as much money as possible for our students. If you, your company, or your union can contribute, please email us at [email protected]. We're looking for: 
  • Product and voucher donations for our Silent Auction, which will go live online in mid-May.
  • Cash donations to help cover costs. (Tax receipts are available.)
  • Gently used small toys (stuffies, fidgets, cars) for game prizes.

The more people contribute, the more successful the event will be. If you're able, please get involved.
